ABSTRACT

In 31 patients with carcinoma and 45 controls catalase activity of liver tissue was measured spectrophotometrically. In patients with carcinoma the activity was significantly lower. Within the control group patients with pathological liver findings or inflammatory disease of the pancreas or bile ducts showed a relatively low catalase activity which was obviously higher than in patients with carcinoma.
