ABSTRACT

Results of the microscopic theory of the dissipative quantum mechanics of a tunnel junction are obtained from a model in which non-linear functions of the phase variable are coupled to two independent sets of oscillators describing the environment. Both the statistical mechanics (“imaginary time effective action”) and real time correlations are treated. The spectral densities of the oscillators are discussed in detail. More... »
