ABSTRACT

This paper provides an analytical solution to the heat conduction equation in a circular tube, with internal convective boundary conditions and asymmetrical heat supply (with a diametral plane symmetry) on its cylindrical external surface. The two dimensional steady state solution is obtained by means of the finite Fourier transform and expressed in terms of the Biot number.
