ABSTRACT

Twelve infected aorto-bifemoral Dacron prostheses were operated on between 1977 and December 1982. Two cases of early infection, eight of late infection and two cases of infection following a second operation were observed. Angiography, fistulography, ultrasonography, intravenous pyelogram, CT scan, leucocyte scan and duodenoscopy are necessary to evaluate the extent of the infection. Four aorto-duodenal fistulae, six totally infected bifurcations and two partially infected grafts were treated. Two patients with aorto-duodenal fistulae, six totally infected bifurcations and two partially infected grafts were treated.
