ABSTRACT

The polytetrafluoroethylene spiral graft is protected against external compression and kinking. Its use is mainly indicated in joint-crossing and subcutaneous extra-anatomical reconstructions. A total of 133 spiral grafts were implanted. Of 37 axillo(bi)-femoral grafts, 30 (81 %) remained patent, 5 (13,5 %) were occluded and 2 (5,4%) showed infection. Of 35 femoropopliteal joint-crossing reconstructions 25 (71,5%) remained patent, while 10 (28,5 %) were occluded. These grafts can also be used for short venous reconstructions. More... »
