ABSTRACT

It was shown that, in the copolycondensation of 1,6-hexanediamine azelaate with 6-capro-lactam, the more active component (1,6-hexanediamine azelaate) is the main reactant in the early stages, and it is only in the later stages of reaction that the composition of the original reaction mixture and that of the polyamide formed become identical. It was shown that, in the process of forming mixed polyamides, the composition of the polymers formed in the final stages of the process is determined by the relative amounts of the original substances, and not by the kinetics of individual stages of the process.
