ABSTRACTConclusionsPyrazine tetracarboxylic acid was synthesized by the oxidation of phenazine, and on treatment with acetic anhydride gave a dianhydride. The condensation of pyrazine tetracarboxylic acid anhydride with 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl ether in dimethylformamide solution led to the synthesis of a polyamidoacid, soluble in amide type solvents.By thermal treatment of polyamidoacid films under vacuum a polyimide was obtained having a decomposition point in air beginning at ∼350°.
