ABSTRACT

ConclusionsThe alkylation of the lithium salt of 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol by methyl acrylate is a bimolecular process of nucleophilic addition at an activated double bond, which can be carried out in a“pseudocatalytic” regime by using a small excess of lithium phenolate.
