ABSTRACT

3-Ketothiolase was purified fromAlcaligenes latus by ion exchange chromatography and isoelectric focusing. The purified enzyme was a tetramer with identical subunits (Mr, 42,000). The kinetic data for cleavage and condensation reactions with 3-ketothiolase were obtained at various substrate concentrations, and compared with those from other PHB-accumulating bacteria.
