AUTHORS ABSTRACTDrosophila pseudoobscura females prefer to mate with kinds of males that are rare among the males courting them. The females appear to obtain information about the frequencies of the different kinds of males by means of airborne olfactory cues, probably lipids (especially in the case of Arrowhead males).
