ABSTRACT

The valence state and coordination of transition metals do not change during polymerization of their acrylates. On the example of polymerization of cobalt acrylate, it was shown that it takes place according to the traditional radical mechanism; the general polymerization equation isWn=K[M]∼1 [I]∼0.5.The synthesized metal-containing polymers with Mη of 18,800–33,600 exhibit elevated (up to 400°C) thermal stability and a predominantly syndiotactic structure.
