ABSTRACT

Oxidation of chromium in the alcohol-carbon tetrachloride-tetramethyl urea or tetramethyl sulfone systems yields [NH2Me2]4[CrCl6]Cl, CrCl3·2[(CH2)4SO2]·3H2O, CrCl3·4MeOH·H2O, and CrCl3·1.75EtOH·2.5H2O.The molecular and crystal structure of the complex [NH2Me2]4[CrCl6]Cl was determined by x-ray diffraction analysis.
