ABSTRACT

The rate of nitrite formation, in UV-irradiated aqueous solutions of alkali metals, is found to depend on co-dissolved chemical compounds and on their reactivities. The effect of some common and simple components of the atmospheric aerosol is investigated in the laboratory.
