ABSTRACT

Results are reported of an experimental study of the three-dimensional structure of nonstationary gas outflow from a planar nozzle. Outflow of a heated shock wave in a nitrogen tube at different moments of time from the start of outflow (0–1 msec) in two mutually perpendicular directions is considered. A scheme for reconstructing the flow at different outflow stages is proposed. The dimensions of the Riemann wave are found to oscillate. More... »
