ABSTRACT

A study was made of the mass copolymerization of caprolactam with styrene by the method of anionic copolymerization initiated by a macromolecular initiator. It was shown that it is possible to prepare copolymers of caprolactam with styrene containing from 5 to 50% of styrene. The relation was found between the amount of styrene introduced into the graft copolymer and the concentration of the catalytic system.Increase in the amount of styrene introduced into the graft copolymer requires an increase in the amount of the catalytic system proportional to tan a. With less than this amount copolymers are obtained with a greater content of water-soluble products. More... »
