ABSTRACTA study has been made on the formation of methyl-alcohol associated ions by field desorption and by quantum-chemical methods (SCF MO LCAO in the CNDO/2 valency approximation). Field desorption can be used to determine molecular interaction characteristics because the electric field has the role merely of ionizing the products.
