ABSTRACTDicyano- and dicyanoethoxycarbonylbromomethane cause fragmentation of 2,6-diphenyl-4-pentafluorophenylverdazyl to 1,3,5-trisubstituted 1,2,4-triazoles. Trifluoro-methylsulfonylcyano- and trifluoromethylethoxycarbonyldibromomethane acylate the dazyl radical to give 1-R-2,6-diphenyl-4-pentafluorophenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-symtetrazines.
