ABSTRACT

Phaseolus vulgaris (bean) is an agronomically important crop worldwide. It diversified in Mesoamerica and in the Andean region (Gepts, 1990). In the XVI century it was introduced from México to Europe. In México, a large number of Phaseolus species and wild varieties are found.
