ABSTRACT

Rose (Rosa species), the most important of ornamental plants, is exploited world-wide as a cut flower and as a garden and amenity plant. It is also an important source of aromatic oils for the perfume industry. The annual global planting of roses is in excess of 240 million, with the retail market for plants exceeding $ (US) 888M.
