ABSTRACT

An analysis of experimental results, carried out by NPO “Altai” jointly with the Institute of Hydrodynamics, Siberian Branch of Academy of Scienes, has given rise to the new technical and scientific field of ultrafine diamond synthesis (UFD) right from carbon of high explosives (HE). When doing experiments there has been registered a abnormally high output of diamond-like carbon phase, obtained at dynamic loading of organic carbon-containing substances. This fact made it possible to invistigate thoroughly all reason of the process and in 1982 there was finally created a new method of ultradispersed diamond synthesis from explosives. (1,2).
