ABSTRACT

The genes encoding the two polypeptides of ribulose-bisphosphate carboxylase-oxygenase (Rbcase) are located in separate genomes of eukary-otic organisms. The gene for the large subunit (LSU) is found in the chloroplast, while those for the small subunit (SSU) are located in the nucleus. We are interested in the interaction between these two genomes and are studying the expression of the genes for the LSU and SSU of Rbcase as a model system for this interaction. More... »
