ABSTRACT

Similarity is the one and only measurement of qualities. Explanations and ideas cannot be transferred without images. The transition from qualitative observation, comparison and description to quantitative and objective findings by measurements is rarely done for properties of objects represented by images or volumes. The extraction of quantitative information from images is either obscure, out of scope or, even worse, misused and misinterpreted.
