ABSTRACT

Direct methods have proven very successful in cases where diffraction data is available to atomic resolution, since they generally depend on the atomicity of the structure. Density modification techniques work with much weaker models, and so can only refine existing phases, however these weak models of the density do not depend on atomicity and so can be applied at lower resolution. Combination of the two methods holds promise for improving both. More... »
