ABSTRACTEtiolated leaves are not encountered in nature since prolonged darkness does not occur usually. In natural conditions, proplastids directly differentiate to chloroplasts (1). In this contribution, we are reporting some pecularities of the pigment changes observed during the first photoperiod of greening of leaves containing either etioplasts or proplastids.
