ABSTRACT

Different spectral forms of Pchlide are found in dark-grown plants. Pchlide emitting fluorescence at 633 nm (P633) is not photo transformed whereas P645 and P657 are photoreduced to the Chlide emitting fluorescence at 690 nm (C690) (1). P645 is the principal form in young leaves whereas P657 is preferentially accumulated in old ones (2–3). In order to check how the photoreduction varies versus the Pchlide type and content, we have simultaneously recorded the 440 nm absorbance and 690 nm fluorescence kinetics as a function of age.
