ABSTRACT

Processes or models using excess demand or supply as signals or variables are hampered by the fact that this excess is usually not observable. In this paper a solution is proposed by assuming that plans on the long side of any market (which need to be rationed) require effort from each individual agent to be carried out. The amount of effort used by each agent on a market is an indicator of his pressure on that market and, aggregated, of the size of the excess demand or supply. Using a transaction technology, prices in terms of effort can be derived which discriminate agents and oppress plans to the compatible level determined by agents on the short side of the market. No rationing institution is needed; this at the cost of some efficiency. More... »

37 schema:description Processes or models using excess demand or supply as signals or variables are hampered by the fact that this excess is usually not observable.
