ABSTRACT

A topical problem in the MHD machine theory is connected with computation of machine parameters in the case of complex velocity profiles. Comparison with experiments shows that the simplest ID turbulent model (OTM) of duct flow can serve as a base for such calculations, especially in the presence of longitudinal partitions inside the channel. But even in the case of a traditional undivided duct, when the velocity profile is developing along the channel length, the results remain acceptable. A modification of the OTM by introduction of some empirical correcting factors can be recommended as a logical next step. More... »
