ABSTRACT

Coverage of the CAPD patient population in the United States by the National CAPD Registry has grown considerably since the Registry began in 1981, as reported elsewhere in this publication. However, an assessment of the consistency of Registry coverage across the U.S. has never been performed. Also lacking is an understanding of the differences between participating and nonparticipating institutions. The report which follows details the extent of CAPD/CCPD patient and center coverage by describing Registry coverage within state and region. In addition, patient population and facility characteristics of participating centers are compared with nonparticipating centers that offer CAPD. More... »
