ABSTRACT

Recently, the [1.1.1] propellane 1 was reported to be the first hydrocarbon monomer which cleanly polymerizes with breaking of a CCσ-bond.1a In a ring – opening polymerization involving the central bond of 1, homopolymer 2, which has a rigid rod-like structure, was obtained.
