ABSTRACT

High-velocity outflows (optical jets or T Tauri winds) are very common phenomena with young stars in the stage of disk accretion. Thus these outflows are considered to be powered by disk accretion, and to originate from the vicinity of young stars from the energetical point of view (Cabrit et al. 1990, Edwards et al. 1993a). On the other hand recent observations suggest that these young stars have magnetospheres, which truncate the accretion disk at several stellar radii (Montmerle et al., 1993). This means that the interaction between the magnetosphere and the accretion disk will have relation to the formation of high-velocity outflows. We took a numerical approach (MHD simulation) to this problem. More... »
