ABSTRACT

Efficient mechanical isolation from environmental noise is one of the main characteristics required for a gravitational wave antenna. We discuss general design optimization criteria for a multistage mechanical filter. Recent experimental results obtained by a prototype to be used for a spherical detector are presented.
