ABSTRACT

Single crystalline Ba1-xKxBiO3-y synthesized by an electrochemical method are characterized by EPMA, ICP, iodine titration, magnetic susceptibility and Raman scattering spectroscopy measurements and the influences of heat treatment to 700 °Care investigated. On the basis of the knowledge of crystal quality, the boundary composition of the semiconductor-superconductor transition in BKB is determined from magnetic susceptibility measurement at x=0.30. The heat treatment results in the decrease of Tc and the drastic change of the Raman scattering spectrum, which is attributed to t h e generation of K deficiency accompanied by O deficiency and a resultant structural change.
