That was Leonardo da Vinci (Figs. 1 and 2) speaking about himself. Leonardo’s works, his visionary insight, still today create a certain fascination. The other one, Raffaello Santi (il divino), Raffael (the divine), sees himself more as a disciple of geometry than a painter.
