ABSTRACT

In 2008, Pune became the seventh metro (mega) city of India, based on a study carried out on eight parameters namely social infrastructure, infrastructure availability, real estate cost and availability, transportation facility (connectivity), presence of quality educational institutes, employment opportunity, facility of financial services and business environment (Assocham, Report: the 7th emerging metro city in India, 2008).
