ABSTRACT

The relaxation around localized centers to the RES in ionic crystals, after femtosecond excitation, is reported in the time range from 10 f s up to 30 ps, for the case of longlived excited bound electrons (10−6–10−3 s). The excited electrons, the neighboring ions and the host crystal ions form a complex system, whose non linear dynamics is resolved numerically with a method which allows to study centers with a rich electronic structure. One of the output is the ballistic propagation here reported of the initial pulse (as generated by the femtosecond light) from the impurity space to the crystal. More... »
