Some of the spectroscopic properties of Pr: YAG has beeninvestigated to asses its feasibility for laser action. The fluorescence spectra, decay times of the metastable levels and the peak emission cross sections were determined in three samples of the nominal Pr3+ concentrations of 0.1, 0.5 and 1%.
