ABSTRACT

Respiratory inductive plethysmography (RIP), first used in research has progressively become a routine respiratory monitoring technique, by the fact that the latest generation of equipment is especially designed for the intensive care environment. Now easy to use and reliable, RIP allows close monitoring of the respiratory function of patients before, during and after mechanical ventilation.
