ABSTRACT

Monuments of our cultural heritage -such as historical buildings from stone or wood- are suffering from environmental influences like climatic changes and pollution. This leads to deformations and cracks on the valuable historical objects. To prevent such tremendous damages it is necessary to detect decay processes in the very beginning, before they are visible to the unaided eye. Due to the delicacy of the object, a remote and nondestructive sensing technique is desirable. More... »
