ABSTRACT

When plasma membranes isolated from A431 cells were incubated in the presence of EGF, 32P incorporation from [y32P] ATP in inositol lipids was significantly enhanced. These lipids were identified as PtdIns(4)P and PtdIns(4,5)P2 by H.P.L.C. analysis. Further experiments indicated that both PtdIns 4-kinase and PtdIns(4)P 5-kinase are probably regulated by the EGF- receptor tyrosine kinase. Results concerning the Ptdlns 3-kinase are discussed.
