ABSTRACT

For objective evaluation of myocardial ischemia and for characterization of cryptogenic cardiomyopathy, quantitative information about myocardial metabolism is necessary [24, 31]. For external monitoring of myocardial metabolism in vivo, radiopharmaceuticals are needed which are directly incorporated into the metabolic pathway in the myocardium. Therefore, much effort was invested in developing suitable labeling procedures for metabolic substrates [5, 8, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 22, 27]. More... »
