ABSTRACT

We present a short description of our recent studies of collision-induced desorption of Xe adsorbed on Pt(111) by hyperthermal Ar atoms. We combine molecular beam experiments with molecular dynamics calculations in an effort to quantify fully the dynamics of this model system.
