ABSTRACT

Radiologists are able to visualize either structures of very different density or of different size. Their methods are limited to the determination of the thickness of the normal bowel wall or intramural gas collections and structures of 3–5 mm in thickness in a moving organ with peristaltic change of shape. It is not possible to visualize fibrous bands of less than 2 mm in thickness with a density that only differs by 5–10 HU from the surrounding enteric walls. More... »
