ABSTRACT

The special nature of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images as opposed to optical images requires highly specialized processing. This paper is devoted to the task of 3D surface reconstruction from multiple radar images. We discuss SAR-specific modifications of well known algorithms (stereo, shape-from-shading), as well as new algorithms incorporating knowledge about the SAR image formation process. Finally, we present a new method to integrate information from several sensors, modalities, or algorithms and discuss its potential pplications in SAR data processing. More... »
