ABSTRACT

Excitation functions were measured for (p,7Be) reactions on natural V, Nb, Au and Bi over the proton energy range of 35 to 100 MeV using the stacked foil technique. Cross sections were measured for emission of 7Be in 53 MeV d(Be) breakup neutron induced reactions on AI, Si, V, Fe, Co, As, Nb, Au and Bi. The (n,7Be) cross sections lie between 0.3 and 5 μb. In all the cases 7Be was separated radiochemically and measured by γ-ray spectroscopy. Some systematic trends in the data are discussed. More... »
