ABSTRACT

In the past several years, SPECT has emerged from research laboratories and received increased interest in the clinical practice of nuclear medicine. The recent progress can be attributed to the contributions of early researches and the availability of a new generation of commercial SPECT systems with improved hardware and software capabilities. Furthermore, important radiopharmaceutical developements such as I-123 labelled IMP for cerebral blood flow and perfusion studies have added to the excitements about the potential impact of SPECT in nuclear medicine. The purpose of this study was to improve IMP-SPECT imaging under clinical conditions to give an accurate basis for quantitation of CBF and its application in daily clinical practice. More... »
