ABSTRACT

This paper explains the structure, characteristics, and performance of the newly developed P314 hybrid transaxle, which was developed for front-wheel drive (FWD) 2.5-liter vehicles. Lower mechanical and electrical losses and lighter weight than the conventional P311 were achieved by enhancing the motor cooling performance, improving the flow of the oil, and optimizing the shape of the casing. This transaxle is also applicable to a wider vehicle weight range and achieves better fuel economy while reducing cost. More... »
