ABSTRACT

Unter Gedächtnis wird allgemein ein komplexes und dynamisches System zum Speichern und Abrufen von Informationen verstanden, die nicht mehr in der Umwelt präsent sind (Bower 2000; Tulving 2000). Das Gedächtnis lässt sich entlang der Dimensionen Zeit und Inhalt in Subsysteme einteilen (Piefke u. Markowitsch 2009; Tulving 2000). In diesem Kapitel werden hauptsächlich die einzelnen Komponenten des Arbeitsgedächtnisses und des Langzeitgedächtnisses sowie die Interaktion zwischen dem Arbeits- und Langzeitgedächtnis beschrieben. Im ersten Abschnitt geht es um die Komponenten und Funktionen des Arbeitsgedächtnisses, im zweiten um die Subsysteme des Langzeitgedächtnisses und die verschiedenen Stufen der Informationsverarbeitung (Registrierung, Enkodierung, Konsolidierung, Speicherung und Abruf ). Die verschiedenen Komponenten und Funktionsweisen des Arbeits- und Langzeitgedächtnisses sowie pathologische Veränderungen der Gedächtnissysteme können mithilfe der fMRT dargestellt werden. Die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des Einsatzes der fMRT für die Untersuchung von Gedächtnisfunktionen werden diskutiert. More... »
