ABSTRACT

Cardiac surgery is a complex surgical operation that is performed on patients with a severe insufficiency in their cardiac function. In this study, we present a CIS (Clinical Information System) with knowledge modeling that combines information extracted from the heterogeneous data sources in order to assess the evolution of the Cardiac surgery after the intervention and data extracted from Follow-Up Record. Once the integrating of data, the homogeneous data could be useful in answering important clinical questions and could help optimize cardiac methodologies in the clinical decision field. The results show that the system proposed by this approach yields valuable information and knowledge for Cardiac surgery patients. More... »
