ABSTRACT

The main aspects of the materials corrosion are considered taking special attention to some specific material behavior associated with the nanostructure. The NMs properties and behavior in the various corrosion media are generalized including the combined actions and high-temperature oxidation. Attention is paid to the role of size factor in reactions of nanostructures with an environment as well as to the theoretical approaches and modeling by MD methods. Some examples of the NMs exploitation in the corrosive media are given and several poorly understood phenomena are mentioned. More... »
