ABSTRACT

A Lamb Shift Polarized Ion Source was installed at the Erlangen HVEC EN-Tandem in May 1974. Scince then the source worked for 2500 hours at the accelerator without any severe failure. The available current at the target is 40–60 nA with a polarization between 70–80% of the theoretical values.
